ObserveID joins Identity Defined Security Alliance (IDSA) to help bring Cloud Infrastructure Entitlement Management (CIEM) to the forefront of Cybersecurity

ObserveID’s management team to work with leaders from other prestigious IDSA member companies in establishing identity-centric policies and initiatives to prevent cloud-based risks associated with overprivileged access of human and machine identities

LOS ANGELES (PRWEB) JANUARY 11, 2022

ObserveID, a leading identity-centric SaaS platform encompassing both Cloud Infrastructure Entitlement Management (CIEM) and Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM), recently announced that it has become a member company of the Identity Defined Security Alliance (IDSA), a non-profit, vendor-neutral collaborative community that helps organizations reduce risk of breach by providing education, best practices, and resources.

As organizations have shifted to hybrid and multicloud environments, identity has become the single most prevalent threat target. With that in mind, most security leaders recognize identity as a central focus for their organization’s risk profile in managing their cloud identity security posture. As such, in 2020, Gartner introduced a new category of cybersecurity called Cloud Infrastructure Entitlement Management (CIEM). The goal of CIEM is to help organizations right-size excessive permissions and overprivileged account access for both human and machine identities.

“With our evolving threat environment, fueled by the shift to remote working, identity has become a focus for security leaders. An identity-centric approach to security can help reduce risk and improve cloud security posture,” said Julie Smith, Executive Director of the IDSA. “We are happy to have ObserveID join the IDSA as a member company to help raise awareness of Cloud Infrastructure Entitlement Management as part of identity security in the cloud.”

“The manual process of managing thousands of identities with risky access entitlements in hybrid and multicloud environments is no longer realistic for organizations,” said Srikanth Palle, Chief Product Officer of ObserveID. “As we continually build upon our identity-centric CIEM platform, we look forward to sharing our learnings with the IDSA community to help build policies and standards that will help shift the focus of security leaders in understanding the importance of their cloud security posture.”

About the Identity Defined Security Alliance (IDSA)
The IDSA is a group of identity and security vendors, solution providers and practitioners that act as an independent source of thought leadership, expertise and practical guidance on identity-centric approaches to security for technology professionals. The IDSA is a non-profit that facilitates community collaboration to help organizations reduce risk by providing education, best practices, and resources. The IDSA was created to help organizations recognize the importance of bringing identity and security together, reducing the risk of a breach through identity-centric security strategies. More importantly, the IDSA is aimed at breaking the problems into common identity-centric security outcomes and implementation approaches – with the goal of providing guidance and tips for practitioners.
