Identity Defined Security Alliance Announces Newest Members, New Resources and First Community Meetup at Gartner Identity and Access Management Summit

DENVER – November 27, 2017 – The Identity Defined Security Alliance (IDSA), an organization dedicated to helping CISO’s develop, advocate and implement an identity centric security strategy, today announced the addition of six new members and the certification of 7 vendor-to vendor-integrations that support previously released IDSA use cases. The newest members of the alliance, adding to the existing 11 companies, include BeyondTrust, Cyxtera, Gemalto, LogRhythm, Okta, STEALTHbits and Varonis.

All IDSA members are actively collaborating on the development of new use cases that are designed and based upon best practices and industry standards and trends. Additionally, the members recently extended the mission of the alliance to include providing an IDSA-validated list of vendor-to-vendor integrations that have been developed through technology alliance programs such as SailPoint Identity+ Alliance, CyberArk C3 Alliance and SecureAuth Connected Security Alliance.

“We continue to hear from organizations that they are looking for guidance on how to maximize their security investments, while taking steps to reduce the risk of a breach,” said Frank Dickson, research director, security products, IDC. “Companies need support to stay ahead of the constantly evolving threat landscape in the most effective and efficient way possible. It’s great to see so many security industry leaders come together to provide the much-desired help and best practices that public and private entities need.”

Submitted vendor-to-vendor integrations have been vetted by the IDSA technical working group against the capabilities and requirements necessary to meet each use case, giving organizations additional confidence that the integrations will work as expected. The list of IDSA validated integrations can be found on the IDSA website, and a subset will be on display at the Gartner Identity and Access Management summit taking place this week at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas. Stop by member booths to view the demos and learn more about the IDSA.

In addition, the IDSA will be hosting its first community meetup event at the Gartner event. The meetup is a forum for practitioners, vendors and solution providers committed to sharing best practices and strategies for implementing an innovative approach to security that helps reduce the risk of a breach, while leveraging existing investments.

“Modern enterprises face a unique challenge in that the four walls that once protected a business no longer exist. Today, organizations have more data in more locations, with more people accessing more applications on more devices than ever before. The only constant in this new world is the people accessing this information, which is why identity-driven security is essential to the modern security stack. We are looking forward to work with the IDSA to help organizations take on their most complex security challenges with identity.”

– Chuck Fontana, Vice President of Corporate and Business Development, Okta

“Today’s security challenges are being met with a mix of solutions in every organization. That’s only possible through meaningful, well tested integrations between platforms. IDSA is a mechanism to foster the cooperation needed to ensure those integrations are well thought out so security pros can move through concept to reality as fast as possible.”

– Jonathan Sander, CTO, STEALTHbits Technologies

“Understanding and mapping identity to data is a cornerstone of a sound security policy and a powerful counterpunch to the threats companies grapple with daily. Organizations are gaining control of their sensitive information and locking down access on a need-to-know basis. We’re looking forward to collaborating with the growing IDSA community in their shared vision to foster awareness and support identity-centric security approaches.”

– David Gibson, CMO, Varonis
